Dans le froid suisse
le souvenir de nos victimes
se trouvait renforcé
car nous savions qu’ici
personne ne pouvait
ni les insulter ni les nier
elles étaient protégées
par la loi qui s’opposait
à la négation du génocide,
aussi malgré le froid
nous avions chaud au cœur
car notre devoir de mémoire
avait été accompli
à l’encontre des menaces
et des représailles
car nous n’avions songé
qu’à l’honneur de l’humain
face à la barbarie.

the memory of our victims
was found strengthened
because we knew that here
nobody could
either insult them or deny them
they were protected
by the law which opposed
the negation of the genocide,
thus despite the cold
we had warmth in our heart
because the duty of our memory
had been completed
contra the threats
and the reprisals
because we hadn’t reflected
but on the honor of the human
against the barbarity.

Μέσα στο ελβετικό κρύο
η ανάμνηση των θυμάτων μας
βρέθηκε ενδυναμωμένη
επειδή ξέραμε ότι εδώ
κανένας δεν θα μπορούσε
ούτε να τα προσβάλλει ούτε να τ’ αρνηθεί
επειδή ήταν προστατευμένα
από το νόμο που εναντιώθηκε
στην άρνηση της γενοκτονίας,
έτσι παρά το κρύο
είχαμε ζεστασιά στην καρδιά
επειδή το καθήκον της μνήμης μας
ήταν εκπληρωμένο
ενάντια στις απειλές
και τα αντίποινα
επειδή δεν είχαμε υπολογίσει
παρά μόνο την ανθρώπινη αξιοπρέπεια
έναντι της βαρβαρότητας.
η ανάμνηση των θυμάτων μας
βρέθηκε ενδυναμωμένη
επειδή ξέραμε ότι εδώ
