nous oublions bien souvent la grandeur.
La résistance du Tibet
n’est pas seulement celle d’un pays
mais d’une véritable civilisation
en lutte contre la barbarie d’un régime.
Il ne s’agit pas non plus uniquement
de l’enseignement bouddhiste
qui aurait pu avoir lieu ailleurs.
Faut-il croire en la réincarnation
pour sauver le Tibet
de l’anéantissement?
Ne devons-nous pas aider
les hommes à traverser
un karma au delà de leurs forces?
À travers le Tibet
ce sont les droits de l’humanité
qui sont bafoués et broyés
aussi nous ne devons tout attendre
d’un seul homme.
La nécessité existe
et c’est à nous de la réaliser
sans cela, l’humanité
perdra non seulement
son innocence légendaire
mais aussi sa sagesse de l’avenir.

μα ενός αληθινού πολιτισμού
που αγωνίζεται κατά της βαρβαρότητας ενός καθεστώτος.
Δεν πρόκειται ούτε καν μόνο και μόνο
για τη βουδιστική διδασκαλία
που θα μπορούσε να λάβει χώρα και αλλού.
Πρέπει να πιστεύουμε στη μετενσάρκωση
για να σώσουμε το Θιβέτ
από τον αφανισμό;
Δεν έχουμε χρέος να βοηθήσουμε
τους ανθρώπους να διαβούν
ένα κάρμα πέραν των δυνάμεών τους;
Με το Θιβέτ
της ανθρωπότητας τα δικαιώματα είναι
που ποδοπατούνται και συνθλίβονται
κι εμείς δεν πρέπει να περιμένουμε τα πάντα
από έναν μόνον άνθρωπο.
Η ανάγκη υπάρχει
κι είναι στο χέρι μας να την καλύψουμε
δίχως αυτό, η ανθρωπότητα
θα χάσει όχι μόνον
τη θρυλική της αθωότητα
μα και τη σοφία της του μέλλοντος.
